LUGI Fencing Club was founded in 1912 and is one of eleven clubs in the LUGI Alliance. LUGI stands for Lund University’s Gymnastics and Sports Club (Idrottsförening in Swedish).

There is a long tradition of fencing in Lund. Lund University has actually had a Fencing mMaster almost continuously since 1684.

Rolf Edling was the Fencing Master of Lund University for no less than 32 years, from 1976 until his retirement in 2008!
